SYNOPSIS:

Sydney North Primary Health Network (SNPHN) invites local GPs to this training to assist in identifying patients that may require a hip replacement and to identify those that would benefit from minimally invasive surgery. The training will also provide participants understanding of the important role Cardiac Rehabilitation plays in recovery and identifying patients that this rehabilitation would assist.


Networking workshop at Epping My Health Record for Specialists, GPs and Allied Health Professionals

SYNOPSIS:

You are invited to a networking evening with other local Specialists, GPs and Allied Health in your area. The topic under discussion will be My Health Record.
This workshop will explore the My Health Record system and help Specialists, GPs and AHPs understand more about the system and how to engage with patients. It will delve into the systems’ features, functionalities, security, benefits and uses, as they relate to medical practice, clinical workflow and patients.
The four month My Health Record opt-out period finishes on 15 November 2018. Every Australian will then get a My Health Record, unless they choose not to.

Applying Motivational Interviewing Skills in General Practice

Sydney North Primary Health Network (SNPHN) invites all GPs and Practice Nurses to a Motivational interviewing (MI) training seminar. MI is a collaborative and evocative counselling style that helps people resolve ambivalence about and enhance motivation for change. This seminar is dedicated to supporting general practitioners and their staff in applying MI principles and strategies to best treat their patients. Attendees will learn about motivation, the stages of change, the spirit of MI and how to apply core MI skills in practice to catalyse positive change in their patients’ lives.

Northern Sydney Frailty Initiative – The Impact of Frailty on Patients

The Northern Sydney Frailty Initiative is delivering an education event to assist health professionals further understand the impact of frailty on patients and how early identification and targeted intervention can reduce frailty, avoid inappropriate hospital admissions, keep people well and at home for longer and reduce need for RACF and hospital admissions.
This education session can help support the delivery of a frailty screening tool and supporting management plans to address the reversible contributing factors of frailty in your day to day practice.
