My Health Record Workshop for GPs, Allied Health Professionals and Specialists

SYNOPSIS:

The My Health Record opt-out period has been announced and will be for four (4) months commencing 16 July 2018. Every Australian will then get a My Health Record, unless they choose not to.
This workshop will explore the My Health Record system and help GPs, AHPs and Specialists navigate the opt-out period and engagement with clients. It will delve into the systems’ features, functionalities, benefits and uses, as they relate to medical practice, clinical workflow and consumers.


Psychosocial Support Services Co-Design Session

SYNOPSIS:

This is your opportunity to shape the future of PHN Commissioned Psychosocial Support Services.

 Sydney North Primary Health Network (SNPHN) is working to improve mental health care in the Northern Sydney PHN region by developing new Psychosocial Support Services for people with a severe mental illness who are not eligible for the NDIS. Psychosocial Support Services are non-clinical services, such as services to build social skills, maintain stable living arrangements or maintain physical wellbeing.

SNPHN is seeking assistance from health professionals, service providers, consumers and carers to design services that meet the psychosocial needs of people with a severe mental illness in our community.

Suicide prevention, intervention and reporting for GPs and Practice Nurses

Sydney North Primary Health Network (SNPHN) along with Wesley LifeForce invites local GPs and Practice Nurses to this Active Learning Module. This specialised program has been designed to equip you with leading methodology and strategies in suicide prevention, intervention and reporting. This course will encourage participants to gain a greater understanding of risk assessment, suicide prevention strategies and patient support and management. Understanding the time constraints of GP consultations, this course will also demonstrate a strategy to provide assistance to a patient who may be considering suicide.

As part of practice accreditation, General Practice staff are required to be able to triage patients. This workshop enables participants to develop a strategy or protocol to meet the needs of your general practice, with additional support provided by the identification of local organisations that you can draw on to assist your practice, your staff and patients. This specialised program is designed to refresh your skills, equipping you with leading methodology and strategies in suicide prevention, intervention and reporting.
