Mental Health in Residential Aged Care Facilities

Description of Service

The Emotional Wellbeing for Older People (EWOP) program delivered by Anglicare is an outreach service that provides mental health care to people living in Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs) in the Northern Sydney region.

The service delivers evidence based psychological therapies, psychosocial support, and therapeutic interventions that are tailored to meet individual needs, providing both individual and group treatment options.

The program also delivers capacity building training and education for RACF staff, and family and carers of residents.

Eligibility

  • Residents of RACFs in the Northern Sydney region who have a MOU with Anglicare
  • Residents who are at risk of, or have, mental illness

Access the Service

Referrals can be made by GPs, RACF nurses or allied health staff with the resident’s signed consent

COVID-19 Mental Health In-Reach Services for Older People

Description of Service

The Emotional Wellbeing for Older Persons In-Reach (EWOPI) program, delivered by Anglicare, is an extension of the Emotional Wellbeing for Older Persons program and is part of the Australian Government’s mental health response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The service delivers early intervention psychological therapies and supports that are tailored to individual needs. Support includes connection to services, local supports and social networks, access to service disruptions and information to clients as well as their families, friends and carers.

Referrals can be made by health professionals with consent from the person being referred.
