Webinar: Facilitating change in your Practice – Session 1

Sydney North Health Network (SNHN) invites all practice staff involved in leading and implementing change including practice owners, partners and practice managers, to the first in a series of 3 webinars designed to assist staff facilitate change in their practices. The outputs of the Strengthening Medicare Task Force and subsequent reform and investments announced by the Federal Government in 2023 have brought an extra dimension to the work of general practice. Aspects of this include efforts to increase access to primary care, encouragement of multi-disciplinary team-based approaches, workforce reform, and the introduction of MyMedicare and voluntary patient registration. All of these potentially carry the need for change within the practice team.

PROGRAM:

Session one content

  • Explore how your current practice leadership, including those in formal leadership roles with direct reports and in informal leadership roles compares to high-performing leadership teams, how this varies and options for action.
  • Understand your personal leadership style, the behaviours that are likely to assist you in any change management activity and those that may be counter productive. This will include practical approaches and suggestions for enhancing your personal leadership effectiveness and role satisfaction.
  • Your current practice culture, its key features and attributes and how to optimise its role in delivering successful change outcomes for the practice, the team and patients.
SPEAKERS:

Ian Corless, Reflect-if Consulting
Ian is a senior executive, leadership coach and facilitator who has over 25 years experience working in the UK, New Zealand, USA and Australia across varied sectors including, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, finance, logistics and education. This has included senior roles and consulting engagements in multinationals, SMEs and not-for-profit organisations.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Sessions are beneficial for all practice staff involved in leading and implementing change including practice owners, partners and practice managers.

  • Have greater awareness of your leadership style and how this influences practice culture and team engagement.
  • Be able to apply leadership approaches  and support to the team based on best practice.
  • Evaluate how conducive to successful change your practice culture is and how it can improved.
COST:
There is no cost for Practices and their staff working within the SNHN region to attend this training
