Burnout: What every GP needs to know

Gordon Private Hospital in conjunction with Sydney North Health Network invites general practitioners to an evening on how to recognise and manage burnout. This training will detail key syndromal features of burnout, so that its diagnosis and differential diagnosis from depression can be improved. Participants will learn to consider ‘burnout’ as it is experienced by patients and health practitioners and consider management options.

Professor Gordon Parker AO

MB BS, MD, PHD, DSC, FRANZCP, FASSA

Scientia Professor of Psychiatry, UNSW

Professor Parker AO is Scientia Professor of Psychiatry, UNSW and was, for almost two decades, Head of the School of Psychiatry at UNSW and Director of the Division of Psychiatry at Prince of Wales and Prince Henry Hospitals. During his career he received a Citation Laureate as the Australian Scientist most highly cited in the field of ‘Psychiatry/Psychology’. His research has focused on modelling psychiatric conditions (depressive, bipolar and personality disorders) and examining causes, mechanisms and treatments for mood disorders.
