SYNOPSIS:
Despite a growing evidence base for strategies to support the management of ARTIs, over-prescription of antibiotics for these conditions remains a problem. Ensuring effective strategies to support health care professionals to manage ARTIs are implemented in practice is a key priority. This workshop will seek to identify evidence-to-practice gaps in the implementation of strategies to support appropriate prescribing of antibiotics in primary care, with a particular focus on management of respiratory tract infections. It will bring together key informants to discuss existing strategies and identify barriers and facilitators to implementation in primary care settings, and develop a set of principles and priorities to future work in this area
