We show you how to use the camera to take and share great photos, how to block nuisance callers, and get some peace and quiet with the clever Do Not Disturb feature. We also look at how you can save and easily find files on your phone, and how to enter the wonderful world of listening to radio podcasts.

In this course, you will learn:

Using the camera

This exciting course teaches you everything you need to know about taking photos with your iPhone. You'll learn how to take photos, undertake basic editing tasks and save your photos so you can view them later or share them with friends and family.

Calls and privacy

This course explains how you can use some of the privacy features on your iPhone. You'll learn how to hide your number for outgoing calls, block nuisance callers, and claim some peace and quiet by using the Do not disturb feature.

Saving and sharing files

This course explains how you can save files to your iPhone and download documents so you can access them later with ease - even without mobile data coverage or Wi-Fi. You'll also learn how to share saved documents and delete unwanted files to save space on your iPhone.

Listening to podcasts

This course introduces you to the wonderful world of podcasts! Follow this step-by-step guide to safely downloading the ABC Listen app to your iPhone and learn how to access hours and hours of free and interesting content online.

Note this class is for learners over the age of 50. Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Community College has received funding to run these low-fee courses under the Tech Savvy Seniors Program – a NSW Government initiative in partnership with Telstra. Photo ID is required.
