Sydney North Health Network (SNHN) invites local GPs to an interactive day of Shared Antenatal Care education. Topics will include lactation issues, antenatal support and post natal challenges, neonatal checks, pelvic floor care before and after pregnancy and cervical screening and cancer in pregnancy.

• Dr Greg Gard, MBBS, BSC (MED), FRANZCOG, CGO Gynaecological Oncologist, Senior Staff Specialist at Royal North Shore Hospital & Lecturer at the University of Sydney

• Dr Georgia Mills, MBBS (Hons), FRACP, FRCPA, Clinical and Laboratory Haematologist, Northern Beaches Hospital

• Dr Penelope De Lacavalerie, MBBS, FRACS, CSSANZ (provisional member) Colorectal surgeon with a special interest in women’s health, perineal tears and prolapses.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Local general practitioners

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

• Perform antenatal examinations appropriate for stage of pregnancy
• Implement current antenatal management guidelines for antenatal care in accordance with NHMRC Antenatal Guidelines
• Demonstrate competency in performing neonatal examination and appropriate referral pathways
• Review cervical screening history and perform cervical screening test if required
• Discuss strategies to manage pelvic floor and perineal issues associated with pregnancy and post partum period

COST:
No cost for GPs practising within the SNHN region or referring patients to hospitals in SNHN region
