ONLINE: Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Interactive Education Series – 2024

General Practitioners are invited to this series of 1-hour Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) online sessions, providing participants with access to GP/Addiction Specialists, advice and support, discussions on de-identified cases, and presentations on topics relevant to GPs now, all in a peer group learning scenario.

Using a collaborative model of medical education this supportive environment gives GPs the knowledge and skills to provide expert-level care to patients.

Topic for May is: Treating Obesity from an Addiction Perspective

Sessions are held every 6 weeks from May to November 2024

CASE PRESENTERS

GPs have the opportunity to provide a de-identified AOD related case presentation in a supportive and non-judgemental environment – the group discusses the case and provides insights on the difficulties, complexities, and approaches that may be useful in managing this type of presentation.

Dr Esther Han | GP/Addiction Specialist NSLHD Drug & Alcohol Service /Clinical Lecturer for the University of Sydney in the Discipline of Addiction Medicine, Northern Clinical School, Faculty of Medicine and Health.

Dr Hester Wilson | GP/Addiction Specialist/Chair of the RACGP’s Specific Interests Addiction Medicine network.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

General Practitioners in the Sydney North Health Network Region with an interest in Alcohol and Other Drugs and emerging substances

COST:
There is no cost for GPs within the SNHN region to attend this training
