Webinar: Managing Pain: A Comprehensive Collaborative Approach in Residential Aged Care Facilities

Wed 7th June 2023 @ 8:00 am

Sydney North Health Network (SNHN) invites local GPs, Nurses, Residential Aged Care Facility Staff, Allied Health Professionals and their relevant staff to a one hour breakfast webinar addressing the issue of pain in the frail RACF resident.

The webinar will include assessing and recognising pain in the cognitively impaired (including the use of non-verbal pain scales), safe and appropriate prescribing in the frail and elderly, managing pain at the very end of life and opioid conversion principals.

Home visiting physiotherapist, Seyed Majlessi, will discuss the new model of addressing persistent pain and the collaboration needed for successful outcomes.

We will also touch on what to look out for to reduce medication misadventures and miscommunication during patient transfers, particularily betwen hospital and the RACF.
