Spirometry training for Practice Nurses

Sydney North Health Network (SNHN) invites local Primary Care Practice Nurses to an informal networking meeting with other Nurses in the Northern Sydney area.  We will also provide an update on how to perform spirometry in primary care.

SPEAKERS:

Jamie McBride is a senior Respiratory Scientist and Laboratory Manager of the Respiratory Medicine Unit at Sydney Children’s Hospital.  He is also a Conjoint Associate Lecturer & Clinical Supervisor for Exercise Physiology at UNSW Medicine.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Local Primary Care Nurses practicing in the Northern Sydney Region

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
  • Indications and Contraindications for Spirometry testing
  • How to perform Spirometry in General practice
  • Recognise the criteria for an Acceptable Spirometry report
  • Understand Predicted Reference values
  • Identify new methods to understand and interpret Spirometry reports
COST:
There is no cost for Practices Nurses practising within the SNHN region to attend this training
