SYNOPSIS:
The Course in Wound Closure is designed to develop the knowledge and skills required for Nurses, General Practitioners and relevant Allied Healthcare Workers to safely assess the need for, and to perform, wound closure in a variety of settings.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
During the two-day workshop topics and activities will include:
• Wound assessment
• Identifying and managing different types of wounds
• Using local anesthetic
• Closure methods and selection of appropriate materials
• Simulated wound closure
• Simulated assessment tasks
• Documentation and follow up and referral.
