Direct Access Colonoscopy (DAC) service located at Ryde Hospital

The service fast-tracks referrals for people living in the NSLHD region who return a positive FoBT result aged 45-74 (typically those who have participated in the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program, but also patients from outside the program), symptomatic or not, and aims to increase detection of early-stage bowel cancer and provide timely direct access to colonoscopy assessment.

Way to refer:

e-referral (SmartForm) via HealthLink (Northern Sydney LHD), attaching mandatory information – past and current medical history,  +VE FOBT report, pathology (HB, eGFR and Ferritin), and any previous colonoscopy reports. Please note only e-referrals will be accepted by the DAC Service from June.
