Target Audience: General Practitioners and Practice Managers

From June 2025, Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) will exclusively accept Electronic Referrals (eReferrals) from GPs for outpatient services, replacing all paper-based methods such as fax, email, or post. This transition applies to outpatient clinics and community health services across Royal North Shore Hospital, Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Health Service, Mona Vale Hospital, and Ryde Hospital. This recording provides a comprehensive demonstration of the eReferral system, including how to submit referrals. It includes participant Q&A addressing concerns regarding this transition, how to ensure a smooth implementation process, integration of various practice software with Health Link and the role of health pathways as a reference guide.

This webinar provides an overview of the My Health Record system, key information it contains, benefits of use and how aged care health providers, residents and their representatives can use and manage their records. This is the first monthly webinar of a 4-part series, starting from March to June 2025. This webinar also shows how you can view a resident’s My Health Record information in the secure National Provider Portal. Future webinars are planned to cover viewing in and uploading information to the My Health Record using Residential Aged Care clinical software.

This webinar is a joint collaboration between Central & Eastern Sydney, Capital Health Network (ACT), Healthy North Coast (NNSW), Hunter New England & Central Coast, Nepean Blue Mountains, Northern Sydney, South Eastern NSW (Coordinaire), South Western Sydney and Western Sydney (Went West) PHNs.

This webinar provides an overview of the My Health Record system and the key information it contains, including the benefits of use for aged care health providers and how residents and their representatives can use and manage their records. It will also explain how aged care services and their authorised staff can access the My Health Record system.

Intended audience is primary care clinicians, managers and nursing staff working in residential aged care homes.

This will provide an overview of the Provider Connect Australia (PCA) initiative - a single place for updating your business information and services, which automatically updates both the National Health Service Directory (NHSD) and the data shared with your other business partners.

Are you using eReferral yet?

Since August 2022, NSLHD has processed over 10,000 electronic referrals, with more than 220 GP practices seamlessly integrating e-Referral systems into their workflows. On March 6th, an additional 98 services were added for Electronic Referral (eReferral), encompassing 90% of outpatient services across Royal North Shore, Ryde, Hornsby Ku-ring-gai, Mona Vale Hospitals, and Primary and Community Health Services.

NSLHD is currently undergoing various service development and improvement initiatives to achieve optimal patient care. The webinar covers several topics, including the progress of eReferral and other service information. This session is interactive, encouraging participants to ask questions and raise any issues. It will be beneficial for practices to utilize HealthLink in sending eReferrals to Northern Sydney Local Health District Services and receive feedback for ongoing improvements and future directions.
