Northern Beaches Hospital has introduced eReferrals

From 19 August 2026, Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) has commenced eReferrals via HealthLink for selected outpatient services. Referrals to these services will no longer be accepted by paper, fax or email and must be submitted electronically through HealthLink.

Northern Beaches Hospital is joining the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) eReferral program as part of NSW Health’s broader digital health strategy. eReferrals offer a range of benefits, including secure and reliable referral transmission, reduced risk of lost or delayed referrals, Improved quality and completeness of referral information and more.

Services transitioning to eReferrals

Starting 19 August 2026, referrals to the following NBH outpatient services must be submitted via HealthLink:

  • Rapid Access Lung Cancer Clinic
  • Lung Cancer Screening Program
  • General Paediatrics
  • Colposcopy
  • Osteoporosis Re-fracture Prevention clinic (ORP)
  • Medical Oncology (Breast, Colorectal, Gynaecological, Lower GIT, Skin, Thoracic, Upper GIT, Urological Malignancy)
  • Radiation Oncology (Breast, Colorectal, Gynaecological, Lower GIT, Skin, Thoracic, Upper GIT, Urological Malignancy)

Please note: In line with other NSLHD outpatient services, referrals received by paper, fax or email for these clinics will be rejected and will need to be resubmitted via HealthLink.

How to submit an eReferral

You can submit eReferrals through:

  1. MyHealthLink Portal herehttps://www.healthlink.com.au/myhealthlink-portal/
  2. HealthLink-compatible clinical software, including Best Practice, MedicalDirector and Genie, etc.

Support is available

  1. Visit the NSLHD website here for more information, or email, NSLHDeReferral@health.nsw.gov.au for detailed instruction videos and FAQs.
  2. If you have HealthLink compatible software, check that your practice is HealthLink enabled (i.e. that you can submit forms from your medical records software via HealthLink).
  3. For application support contact HealthLink on 1300 145 456 (option 4) or register@healthlink.net with any questions.
