Volunteer Committee Member – Hornsby Village Hub

Description: The Hornsby Village Hub is a community initiative created with the aim to build social connections, reduce social isolation, and support the physical and mental health of people aged 55+ and Aboriginal people 50+ living in the Hornsby LGA.

The Hornsby Village Hub Volunteer Committee, formed in June 2022, was pivotal to the Hub’s inception. Represented by eleven community partners and community groups, the committee’s purpose is to lead the direction of the Hub and its programs and communication. Each position on the committee is held for a 12-month term with the option to re-apply via the Expression of Interest form.

The committee meets monthly as well as additionally for sub-committee meetings. Information is regularly exchanged between committee members and there is opportunity to support the Hub’s Community Connections Officer to deliver the community-led activities that form a central part of the Hub’s social connection and active aging remit.

The Hornsby Village Hub is now seeking individual expressions of interest from members of the Hornsby Village Hub; community connectors (people representing Hornsby Shire community groups) and current steering committee members interested in being a part of the voluntary Hornsby Village Hub committee 2023-2024, which will play a key role in the direction of the Hub and support its sustainability.

Closing Date: Monday 15 May 2023 11:59PM
