Northern Beaches Hospital to welcome first patients

Final preparations are underway ahead of the opening of the new Northern Beaches Hospital on 30 October.

The nine-storey hospital at Frenchs Forest will provide 488 inpatient beds and a 50-space emergency department.

When the new hospital opens on 30 October, Manly Hospital will close and services will transfer to the new facility.

All emergency services on the Northern Beaches will be provided at the new hospital from 7am on 30 October.

Mona Vale Hospital’s acute services, such as surgery and maternity, will transfer to the new Northern Beaches Hospital the following day, 31 October.

Mona Vale Hospital will continue to offer aged care and rehabilitation services, community health and palliative care. A new Urgent Care Centre will operate 24 hours a day for the treatment of minor injuries and illnesses.

The new network will provide a modern, integrated health service for the Northern Beaches community.
