Mental Health Advisory Committee

Sydney North Health Network is now seeking individual expression of interest from both health professionals and community members, with an interest in mental health, to form the SNHN Mental Health Advisory Committee.

The SNHN Mental Health Advisory Committee will give its members an important voice in the area of local mental health needs. As a member you will provide advice to SNHN on local mental health issues, priorities and gaps to help shape local services and programs.

Individual expressions of interest are now invited from a range of stakeholders who are interested in providing representation for one or more of the following areas:

  • General Practice
  • Alcohol & Other Drugs
  • Suicide Prevention
  • Allied Health
  • Carers
  • Individuals with a Lived Experience of Mental Illness
  • NGO
  • Aboriginal Health
  • Culturally and Linguistically Diverse
  • Specialist Mental Health Care
  • NSLHD
  • Aged Care
  • Youth Health

The Black Dog Institute – Youth Anxiety and Advanced Suicide Prevention courses for Health Professionals

Youth Anxiety

This 3 hour workshop for Psychologists, Counsellors and Allied Health Professionals uses case studies as a platform for learning and provides an overview of the latest developments in youth anxiety and techniques to manage the diagnostic and treatment complexities.

Advanced Suicide Prevention

This new workshop aims to increase health professionals’ skill and confidence in taking a detailed suicide history and developing a collaborative management plan to increase the safety of people planning suicide.

GPs can refer patients to the Access to Allied Psychological Services (ATAPS) program by calling the Sydney North Health Network GP referral line on 1300 782 391.
