SYNOPSIS:
Diabetes distress is common in people living with diabetes. The 2011 Australian Diabetes Miles Study found 28% of adults with type 1 diabetes experienced severe distress, with 22% of people with type 2 insulin-treated and 17% of type 2 non-insulin-treated diabetes similarly affected.
Unrecognised diabetes distress is linked to a range of adverse outcomes for people living with diabetes in terms of both their physical and emotional health.
Join our expert panel as we explore the factors that lead to diabetes distress, the characteristic signs and symptoms and how diabetes distress is best addressed in clinical practice.
