Sydney North Health Network (SNHN) invites local Practice Nurses to a workshop which is aimed at those who are attending to patients with both chronic and acute wounds. It will provide clarity on the importance of good assessment and identification of the needs of the wound. In addition, we will look at dressing selection and how to select the right dressing to meet the needs of the person’s wound.

• Sara Ford (RN), National Clinical Educator (Hartmann Australia) Sara is a Registered Nurse who has worked in wound management for the past 15 years.

• Sue Monaro, Skin Integrity Improvement Facilitator Clinical Governance Directorate, Senior Clinical Lecturer/Faculty of Medicine and Health, The University of Sydney

• Vicki Conomy, SNPH Nurse Transition Program Coordinator

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Practice Nurses

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

• Discuss wound healing including factors that impact on skin repair

• Recognise the importance of wound assessment and documentation

• Outline acute and chronic wound management

• Select appropriate wound dressings to optimise healing

No cost for Practice Nurses practising within the SNHN region
