Webinar – Gestational Diabetes

Sydney North Health Network (SNHN) invites local GPs to a webinar on managing women with diet controlled Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) with guidance from the diabetes services regarding escalation of treatment.  There will also be an update on the use of SGLT2 inhibitors.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

GPs and Practice Nurses

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
  • Apply effective management strategies for gestational diabetes mellitus involving blood glucose monitoring, adopting healthy eating patterns (relevant to the woman’s cultural background) and regular physical activity.
  • Recognise the important implications for obstetric and neonatal outcomes when medications in pregnancy are required and identify the criteria for referral to Specialist Obstetric Care.
