Sydney North Health Network (SNHN) invites local GPs, Nurses and Pharmacists to the Treatment of Opioid Dependence education session. The event will discuss the new prescribing guidelines, how they impact general practice and how to be prepared. It will include an open forum on managing opioid-dependence patients in General Practice.

Topic: Dispensing and inducting patients on Opioid treatment

TARGET AUDIENCE:

GPs, Practice Nurses, Pharmacists and Allied Health professionals

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
  • Identify the new guidelines for the treatment of opioid dependence and how these changes will impact general practice
  • Monitor and support patients through the process of opioid agonist treatment or opioid withdrawal via referral to other local services
  • Recognise and manage patients suffering with opioid dependence
  • Identify prescribing options, encouraging pharmacies to dispense and induct patients on Opioid Agonist Treatment
COST:
There is no cost for GPs, Practice Nurses or Pharmacists working within the SNHN region
