Preparing for PIP QI: How to look at data for Quality Improvement activities

Sydney North Health Network (SNHN) invites local GPs, Practice Nurses, Practice Managers and administration staff to workshop to understand the new Practice Incentives Payment – Quality Improvement (PIP QI).  How to run searches for the 10 Improvement Measures in the CAT4 data extraction tool, data cleansing and understanding Models for Improvement using Plan, Do Study, Act cycles. Examples of what a QI activity could look like, as well as a summary of the PIP changes will also be presented.

James Alcorn | PEN CS
Years of experience in the primary care sector, working mostly in IT and data analysis, James has been able to assist general practices in utilising patient data to identify at-risk patients, vaccine recalls, secure messaging, electronic health records and medication management. James is currently working with the NSW PHNs to implement CAT4 and Topbar, assisting general practices to improve patient outcomes through improved data.

Angela Mason-Lynch | Accreditation Surveyor
Angela is an Accreditation Surveyor and a Medical Practice Assistant trainer and assessor for UNEP, a Registered Nurse with a Post Grad Certificate in Nursing Management, a Diploma in Practice Management and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors

GPs, Practice Nurses, Practice Managers and administration staff

  • Recognise the requirements of the new Practice Incentives Payment – Quality Improvement PIP QI
  • Develop skills to extract and evaluate practice data for quality improvement activities
  • Identify the 10 measures for PIP QI and understanding how to identify patients in line with these measures for QI
No cost for GPs, Nurses, General Practice staff practising within the SNHN region.
