Management of the Medical Emergency in your Surgery ALM

Sydney North Health Network (SNHN) invites local GPs and Primary Care Nurses to participate in this 40 point RACGP ALM. This training is delivered by Cynergex, a provider of training in emergency prehospital management of medical emergencies.

Topics will include: Management of medical emergencies in General Practice, CPR and Advanced Airway Management, Emergency Drugs and Treatment Protocols.

NOTE: DUE TO POPULARITY, THIS TRAINING IS LIMITED TO TWO PARTICIPANTS PER PRACTICE.

RACGP CPD POINTS:

SPEAKERS:

Dr John Fahey PhD – Managing Director and Cynergex Group Educator.

John has 37 years’ experience in emergency medicine and pre-hospital care. John’s capacity as a leader in pre-hospital emergency care, contingency planning and workplace health and safety stem from his lifelong career of academic research combined with hands on experience and employment in both the Australian Army and Government service departments.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

GPs and Practice Nurses.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
  • Identify the most common medical emergencies affecting patients, using a risk management approach;
  • Manage the immediate care of medical emergencies utilizing a practice management (crew resource management) system;
  • Apply techniques and protocols consistent with current emergency medical guidelines for pre-hospital care;
  • Refer the patient to further appropriate care.
COST:
No cost for GPs and Practice Nurses practising within the SNHN region.
