FULLY Subsidised Black Dog Training – Dealing with Depression

Dealing with Depression is a highly interactive program that aims to provide general practitioners with a practical framework for diagnosing and managing depression. The program uses case based learning to explore key challenges GPs experience when caring for patients with depression. Cases will be examined and effective strategies will be devised to address these challenges.

  • 40 Accredited Activity CPD points (RACGP)
  • 3 Performance review, 5 Educational Activity PRPD (ACRRM)
  • Mental Health Skills Training (GPMHSC)
  • Diagnose clinically significant depression.
  • Recognise the contribution of biological, social and psychological factors to the current depressive episode.
  • Assess and manage risk in the depressed patient.
  • Select pharmacological treatment best suited to the individual patient.
  • Develop a comprehensive mental health treatment plan derived from the formulation of the individual patient.
$50, however this will be reimbursed to each participant by SNHN upon completion of the training. Subsidy/Reimbursement information The usual registration cost for this course is $360, however NSW Health has subsidised this training to a reduced cost of $50. SNHN will further subsidise GP participation in this training where upon providing proof of completion, participants will need to invoice SNHN to be reimbursed their $50 registration cost, for more information email rrobinson@snhn.org.au
