Sydney North Health Network (SNHN) invites local GPs, Practice Managers, Practice Nurses and Practice Staff to an advanced quality improvement Active Learning Module full day event with the aim of introducing and further developing practices’ understanding for improvement methodology. It focuses on the use of data for different purposes, as the well as the importance of building data driven improvement in the practice.

SPEAKERS:

DR WALID JAMMAL | PRACTICING GP and PRACTICE OWNER 

Dr Jammal is also a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney and Conjoint Senior Lecturer at Western Sydney University. His practice is a lead site in the Commonwealth’s Health Care Home Trial. He has interest and expertise in care integration and the patient centred medical home.

 

DR DR PARESH DAWDA| PRACTICING GP and UNIVERSITY LECTURER

Dr Dawda has a diverse portfolio of roles including leadership, academic and consulting roles including Honorary Professor at ANU and Adjunct Professor at the University of Canberra. He is the author of key papers relevant to high performance primary care including the King’s Fund Paper on Quality Improvement in General Practice.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

GPs, Practice Nurses, Practice Managers and Practice Staff

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
  • Understand the difference between data for improvement, data for research, and data for accountability and performance
  • Understand the principles of collecting and analysing practice data, including developing a detailed understanding of variation and its influence
  • Understand the difference between process and outcome measures
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the model for improvement and PDSA cycles
COST:
There is no cost for GPs or PNs working within the SNHN region.
