AOD: Substance Use and Physical Health – ONLINE WEBINAR

Sydney North Health Network (SNHN) invites local GPs and Health Professionals to a webinar presented by Dr Lauren Gardner a Research Fellow at The Matilda Centre for Research in Mental Health and Substance Use at the University of Sydney and facilitated by Katherine Mills, PhD, Associate Professor and NHMRC Senior Research Fellow, Director of Early Intervention & Treatment Research.

In this webinar Dr Gardner will provide an overview of ways to identify and manage substances and their effects on physical health. The speaker will guide practitioners through an approach to discussing with patients the impact of substance misuse and physical health.

DR LAUREN GARDNER is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Matilda Centre for Research in Mental Health and Substance Use at the University of Sydney.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
  • Monitor and outline the inter-relationship between Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) use and physical health;
  • Develop a comprehensive checklist to identify the physical health risks of AOD use;
  • Utilise course reference materials to identify and manage the physical health risks of AOD use, including awareness of, and what to do next.
COST:
There is no cost for health professionals working within the SNHN region
