Aged Care on the Northern Beaches

Sydney North Primary Health Network (SNPHN) invites GPs, Primary Care Nurses, Pharmacists and Allied Health Professionals working on the Northern Beaches to attend the first Northern Beaches Local Coordinated Network (LCN). LCNs are locally driven and have been established across the region for groups of GPs and other primary care practitioners as well as local service providers, based around geographical regions.

  • Describe new approaches to orthopaedic surgery in the older patient
  • Optimise surgical outcomes in the older patient and utilise getting fit for surgery strategies
  • Improve understanding of management of delirium and challenging behaviours in patients from nursing homes undergoing surgery
  • Describe and utilise best practice management of elderly patients after surgery and discharge from hospital
  • Increased awareness of aged care services operating on the Northern Beaches
COST:
No cost for GPs and health professionals practicing within the SNPHN region
