Adult Asthma Management – What’s New?

Sydney North Health Network along with the National Asthma Council Australia, as part of the Asthma Best Practice for Professionals Program, invites GPs, Practice Nurses, pharmacists,  Aboriginal health practitioners, physiotherapists, and other allied  health professionals to a webinar on Adult Asthma Management.

Rhona will cover the latest information around Managing Adult Asthma patients in the primary care setting.

SPEAKERS:

RHONA MACDONALD | RESPIRATORY NURSE PRACTITIONER
Rhona is a Respiratory Nurse Practitioner for West Moreton Hospital and Health Service. She has a Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) in Chronic Disease Management and completed several post graduate courses in asthma and respiratory management and COPD care. She has been a NP for 11 years and has worked with respiratory patients since 1995.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

GPs, Practice Nurses, pharmacists, Aboriginal health practitioners, physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals and their staff practising within the SNHN region.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
  • Identify the steps involved in the diagnosis of adult asthma,
  • referring to the Australian Asthma Handbook
  • Describe ways to improve and maintain optimal asthma control
  • Summarise the current guidelines for medication management
  • Summarise the important information to be included in a Written
  • Asthma Action Plan
  • Describe the steps in managing acute asthma in primary care
