SPEAKERS:

Professor Simon Willcock – GP and SNHN Deputy Chair

Professor Simon Willcock has extensive experience in clinical practice, medical education, primary care research, organisational governance and medical workforce development. Simon has worked closely with State and Commonwealth Governments on a broad range of initiatives and was a board director of Northern Sydney Medicare Local (NSML). He is past Chair of General Practice Education and Training (GPET), and past Independent Medical Director of Health Workforce Australia.

Simon is Director of Primary Care Services at Macquarie University Hospital and Faculty of Health Sciences and an Elected Member Director and Chair of the Avant Mutual Group and a Director of the Doctors Health Fund.

Clinical Professor Meredith Makeham – GP and Chief Medical Adviser, ADHA

Professor Makeham is the Chief Medical Adviser for the Australian Digital Health Agency ensuring that digital health technology in Australia is designed, built and evaluated in close collaboration with the research community. She provides advice on patient safety, clinical governance, risk management, digital health and safety research, and the delivery of primary care services to the Australian Digital Health Agency.

She is a former board director of the RACGP and is currently a member of their Representative Expert Committee for eHealth and Practice Systems. Professor Makeham is a Sydney based general practitioner holding a Bachelor of Medicine (Honours), a Masters of Public Health (Honours) and a PhD in Patient Safety from the University of Sydney.

Dr Kean-Seng Lim – GP and AMA President, NSW

Kean-Seng is a GP Principal in a small group practice in Mt Druitt and a GP Supervisor. He has previously served on the RACGP Faculty Board and WSDGP Board. He has previously been a NEHTA Clinical Lead, as well as serving on the NPS eHealth Clinical Advisory Group and is currently the Vice President of the AMA (NSW) and on the board of Wentwest – Western Sydney PHN.

At the local level, he is currently the secretary of the Mt Druitt Medical Practitioners Association, and has been heavily involved in developing SALSA, a schools based obesity prevention program in western Sydney. Kean-Seng has successfully implemented the PCMH model into practice, is part of the Wentwest PHN group of practices working mtogether to transform primary care, and is on the Federal healthcare homes advisory group.

Dr Louise Schaper – OT and CEO, Health Informatics Society of Australia 

As leader of Australia’s peak body for digital health, Dr Louise Schaper, is a passionate advocate for the transformation of healthcare. As CEO of Health Informatics Society Australia (HISA) she brings together world-class clinicians, researchers, innovators and organisations from across the biomedical, health and technology spectrum who are committed to the improvement of health outcomes enabled through innovative uses of technology and information. She is a facilitator, an innovator and a change agent who explores and leverages the convergence of people, systems and technologies in the transformation and future of health and medicine.

With a background as an occupational therapist, Louise has a PhD in technology acceptance among health professionals, is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Informatics, a graduate of Stanford’s Executive Leadership Program, a Certified Health Informatician and a Salzburg Global Seminar Fellow.

Leanne Wells – CEO, Consumers Health Forum of Australia

Leanne is the Chief Executive Officer of the Consumers Health Forum of Australia. She is a health advocate and service executive with over thirty years’ experience. Leanne has held executive positions within federal government and in national and state non-government organisations, most recently as CEO of a state-based primary care organisation. Throughout her career, she has worked in the health and social care sectors. Leanne is a Board Director of Coordinare South East New South Wales Primary Health Network, the Ozhelp Foundation, PainAustralia and Advancing Pharmacy Practice. She is the Independent Chair of Coordinare’s Community Advisory Committee. Leanne has qualifications in communications and business.

She is a member of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Management.
