SYNOPSIS: 

ECIA NSW/ACT is organising a series of regional forums – Collaboration partnerships, making referral pathways work: NDIS/ECEI – across NSW and the ACT between March and May 2017. These regional forums will facilitate information sharing, linkages and capacity building (ILC) locally in the context of NDIS and the Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) approach. Focus will be on strengthening the partnerships with health professionals as a priority and with other local services and organisations that
support children with developmental delay and/or disability and their families.

The regional forums will:

  • help establish/strengthen local networks and partnerships to enhance the information sharing linkages and capacity building at the local level
  • bring together local representatives from ECI, Health (e.g. paediatricians, community health, private allied health etc) ECEC, NGOs and other community organisations to consider ways of improving referral pathways and inclusive practice in the context of NDIS and ECEI
  • act as a platform for learning about each other’s work, achievements and challenges promote the inclusion and meaningful participation of children with developmental delay and/or disabilities.
