Compassionate Communities National Symposium

FEBRUARY 2017

PROVIDER: Compassionate Communities Network

DATE: 20 – 21 February 2017

VENUE: International Convention Centre Sydney

SYNOPSIS:

The Symposium will bring together community leaders from local government, not-for-profit organisations and community groups to develop ways to support people at the end of their lives.

A new collaboration between Palliative Care Australia and The Groundswell Project will bring together world leaders to advance the Compassionate Communities movement in Australia.

It is, undoubtedly, an incredible time to have this national conversation. Across Australia, institutions and policy makers are grappling with the growing ageing population and how services will keep up with demand. At this two day symposium in Sydney, you will hear from Australian and UK experts who will present the latest evidence and practical advice about how each of us can be part of a movement building communities of compassion to support people approaching the end of their lives.
