New Funding Approach

Sydney North Health Network adopts a commissioning-based approach to planning local health services with the aim of improving the health of people living in our region. We work collaboratively with stakeholders across the health and social care economy to set the strategic direction, drive service improvements and achieve system change.

SNHN is introducing a new tender approach for Financial Year 2025-26 in the areas of Mental Health, Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD) and Suicide Prevention. Whilst SNHN is one partner in a large private, public health and social care system, we have the ability to create an innovative commissioning system. SNHN commissioning will adopt a layered approach focusing on place-based, regional-based, and outreach services. This will allow for a balance between universal service provision, targeted interventions, and flexible services that meet the unique needs of the community.

SNHN will provide data, partnership agreements, and system infrastructure based on key commissioning principles prioritising health outcomes for vulnerable populations in region, in accordance with SNHN strategic objectives and funding requirements.
