CCNB Carers Week Event: Carer informed research: findings to inform policy
Date: October 15
- Time: 10:00 am – 11:00 am
CCNB celebrates National Carers Week with this FREE online special event that will have us all talking about life as a Carer from the perspective of Carers.
Emeritus Professor Bettina Cass will discuss what research with family and friend carers tells us and how the experiences and insights of carers provide significant ways to inform policy development. Professor Cass has been a research leader who, with colleagues at the University of NSW and colleagues in the UK, has been involved in research focussed on Carers through the life course, including young Carers engaged in education; Carers juggling paid employment and caring responsibilities; and Carers compelled to leave the workforce because of their caring responsibilities. Her talk will outline the findings of this research and how it translates into policy. The talk will also look at the findings of recent surveys about the experiences, needs and concerns of Carers in the time of COVID-19.
