OCTOBER 2016
DATE: 25 – 27 October 2016
PROVIDER: The Australian College of Mental Health Nurses Inc.
VENUE: Adelaide Convention Centre, South Australia
SYNOPSIS:
There are many factors that impact on the health of Australians. Where there is disparity, across any aspect of life, quality of life and health outcomes are affected.
Consider people with mental illness who, compared to people from the general population, experience reduced life expectancy, poor physical health, and reduced access and treatment for a range of health problems. Consider also the impact on their families.
The theme of this conference – nurses striving to tackle disparity in health care – invites speakers and delegates to consider the many ways in which disparity impacts on mental health consumers and carers. The conference provides an opportunity to showcase innovative models of care, develop partnerships and opportunities for collaboration, discuss workforce and community design, and highlight educational programs that promote improved outcomes for consumers and their families.
