Mental Health News – July ’16

Employment ready training opportunity for young people

Sydney Counselling Centre and STEPS Employment have partnered with Headspace and the NBN Co. to provide free employment ready workshops to young people aged 18-25 who are at risk of mental health issues or living with mental illness.

The training program is designed for young people 18-25 years of age at risk of mental health issues or living with a mental illness and looking to transition to work. The four week training program includes job-ready and industry training through NBN Co. Ltd.

The training includes:

  • Microsoft Office training
  • Developing your confidence
  • Resume and cover letters
  • Interview skills development

After the program, participants will receive a statement of attainment and 2 weeks work experience at NBN Co Ltd.

When: Weekly 2.30pm – 4.30pm Friday afternoons, commencing 20 May 2016
Where: Sydney Counselling Centre, Level 4, 7 HelpStreet, Chatswood NSW

GPs can refer patients to the Access to Allied Psychological Services (ATAPS) program by calling the Sydney North Health Network GP referral line on 1300 782 391.
