EOI Title: Designing Decision Support to Reduce Inappropriate Polypharmacy in Older Inpatients – Understanding User Perceptions and Workflows.
Date: Tuesday 5 September 2017
Researchers led by Professor Sarah Hilmer, at Royal North Shore Hospital’s Kolling Institute, are designing a computerised tool that supports deprescribing to reduce inappropriate polypharmacy in older inpatients.
The aim of this project is to explore current processes of medicine review in hospitals and communication of this with the patient’s general practitioner. This will inform design of computerised decision support software to facilitate medicine review and deprescribing in hospitals.
Researchers are seeking general practitioners to participate in approximately 30 minute interviews and/or 1 hour focus groups on how best to communicate about medicine review and deprescribing in hospital with GPs. Food and refreshments will be provided for focus group participants.
If you are interested in participating in this important research, contact Ms Mai Duong at firstname.lastname@example.org or (02) 9926 4869 for a copy of the participant information sheet and other additional details.
