Do you provide services to older people who are at risk of falling?
Would you like to build new knowledge or enhance your practice in fall prevention in older people?

The SNHN would like to invite allied health professionals to attend a workshop which will provide information to guide the provision of effective fall prevention exercise programs and pragmatic service delivery for older people.

SPEAKERS:

A/Prof Anne Tiedemann is a Principal Research Fellow at Sydney School of Public Health, University of Sydney. Her research focuses on risk factors for falls in older people and the implementation and evaluation of exercise-based fall prevention interventions.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Allied health professionals

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
  • Understand the epidemiology of falls in older people, the consequences and risk factors.
  • Understand the evidence regarding interventions proven to prevent falls.
  • Understand specific aspects of exercise program design and delivery that maximise effects on falls.
COST:
There is no cost for GPs and allied health professionals within the Sydney North Primary Health Network region
